I created Montana Scribbler Web site and the Tenth Edition of my free writing course, Access The World And Write Your Way To $$$ and writing-related blogs to share freely what I'm passionate about: writing. Each web page provides expertise and links to FREE expert resources for those interested in a writing career.

Because they are out-of-print rare collectible books, I also want more people to be able to read (and\or download and print free) Behind These Mountains, my three-volume series of northwestern Montana regional history books. So, I'm in the process of publishing the 2nd editions. Volume 1 debutted at, http://behindthesemtns.blogspot.com/ with a chapter that I'd published early in 2010 to commemorate the 1910 fire and the people whose lives it forever changed.

Originally intended to be five volumes of homesteader's history, illness and finances intervened and stopped me from reaching my goal for Behind These Mountains. The entire print runs, 1000 copies of volume 1, and the 500 copies each of volumes 2 and 3 sold out. My royalty -- $1.18 per book, paid me aout $2,500 income to offset ten times that amount that my husband unstintingly let me spend during eight years, on research, materials and equipment. (Income tax required documentation.)

As such histories do, existing copies have become rare and collectible. Few libraries or universites allow copies to be checked out or shared through inter-library loan. Because each volume is fully documented, the US Forest Service, other government agencies, companies and other authors continue to reference them.

Wish me luck as I format, edit and revise the book's 80 chapters, plus the indexes, photographs and maps. By tinkering, tweaking, and plugging away I can accomplish my goal. I'm getting up at 6 a.m. (more often now) to work on the 2nd editions ~~as I did during 1984-92 to write the manuscripts of the original books  ;0)) So far I have a fourth of the chapters ready for publication.

April 8, 2011, the newspaper I created as a FREE service to residents of the north Palouse region, south of Spokane, Wash. The communities weekly newspaper, The North Palouse Journal folded, leaving the area without media coverage that is so vital to small rural communities miles apart in farming country. The North Palouse Washington e-Newscast, http://www.palousenewscast.com/ rapidly gained readership. Enjoy it, and discover this unique and wonderful region.

I beg your patience as I achieve my goals for 2011. God willing.
